Stuff we shouldn't be talking about

There are a lot of important issues everyone should be discussing in the run-up to this year’s presidential election. Wouldn’t it be nice to know what each candidate would do about our impending economic doom? What about their opinion on the new Iraqi law that supposed to help Sunnis but is actually opposed by most Sunnis? Do they think we should do anything about the glaciers melting faster than anyone thought?

But no, that’s way too much substance for most people, or at least our political media. So here is a quick rundown of what the media thinks is more important than those issues I just mentioned:

McCain is old and isn’t a homophobe.

Mitt Romney hates the auto-industry because he wanted to raise taxes on inefficient SUVs.

Oh and Huckabee is a dirty liberal! Which I’m pretty sure Reagan made a crime in 1980s.

Bill Clinton made a non-racist comment about Obama’s war stance, which proves the Clintons are racist. Insanely rich African-American and Clinton advocate, Bob Johnson, made a stupid comment about Obama, which proves that the Clintons are racists. Hillary Clinton mentions that MLK had some help from LBJ, so she hates MLK and is totally a racist.

The Obama camp has issued an internal memo responding to the Clinton campaign’s latest “racial” attacks, meaning that Obama is openly vying for the black sympathy vote.

Seriously, are these people covering an election? At least the A Daily Show and the Colbert Report are back so we can get some real news. I wish I was joking about that.

Oooh Chris has some fangs in this one. Thumbs up, A++ will read again!

I am all for freedom of the press, but I don’t feel like this is what the founding fathers intended. Our media is a complete joke and waste of space. They have no intergrity at all anymore it seems. I wish the internet would finish off television news already so we don’t have to watch it goes through this awful ratings ploy shit.

    Hahaha… some fangs… thanks.

On a related note to this story, the MSNBC Democratic debate last night was awful. The questions for the first 1/3 of the show perpetuated the same media driven storylines I mentioned in this post. They even asked Obama what he thought about emails circulating around that said he was secretly a Muslim terrorist sympathizer.
