The Tar Heels lost

“I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened.” — Obi-Wan Kenobi

The photo accompanying this post wasn’t really appropriate when I used it for my first March Madness post, but it sure is now. When Carolina loses, they lose big time. It sucks to go out two years in a row with such a whimper.

Anyways, best of luck to Kansas tonight. Not sure if I want to watch…

One could say its karma that Williams got pwnd by the school he never should have left. Really though, UNC just ran into a team that played their best basketball of the year in that one game. I would have never expected them to get up 40-12. It happens, and that is the nature of the tournament. The “best” team doesn’t always win.

He did win a championship after he left, and Kansas seems to be doing just fine with Mr. Self. Might be some karma in it though.

After watching that game, I’d have to say Kansas is the best team in the country. Now, admittedly, I haven’t much of Kansas’s other games this year, but they were damned impressive. Awesome on D, solid in the paint, good at shot blocking, good shooting range, etc. They played every facet of the game well.

I found the threads in the past couple of days on insidecarolina.com quite amusing.

seems the typical carolina fan is attributing the loss to UNC “not showing up” in the first half. so typical. “If we just showed up in the first half, it’s not even a game!”

why can’t there be more fans out there that can step back and take an unbiased look at something… I’m not really a huge duke fan, it’s just that I hate carolina fans and that’s why it makes me happy when they lose a game like this

I’m right there with Ted. I liked Duke a lot more in high school, but since I went off to college elsewhere I have kind of stopped caring as much about them. I watched them some this year and yeah I was bummed when they lost to WVU, but I wasn’t nearly as bummed as I would’ve been a few years ago. That said, my love of loathing UNC is still as strong as ever. Chris is tolerable in that he actually went to UNC and isn’t a complete ass.

I hope you watched that game last night. It was a classic for the ages.

I watched the first 10 minutes, then the last 6-7 minutes + overtime. Excellent ending. I am glad Kansas won, even if their fans hate UNC.
